HOW LONG TO SEE THE EFFECTS OF AN ANTIBIOTIC ON A BACTERIAL INFECTION?
Question by INAMP:
How lengthy to see the effects of an antibiotic on a bacterial infection?
I’m taking Ampicillin 500 mg 4x/day and am on Day 2.5 and have not seen any changes. I know docs can do cultures to assist determine the form of bacteria (lengthy story-don’t want to involve docs), but I am just questioning if I am taking the correct type of antibiotic to cover an array of bacterial infections and when to expect to see some sort of recovery. (I know to take all of the medication even if I feel far better.)
Thanks for your help!

You could have an infection that Ampicillin is not going to aid. I know you do not want to involve physicians, but sometimes the only way to get more than an infection is to see a doctor so s/he can diagnose and prescribe the correct antibiotic.
Not realizing what sort of infection, it’s difficult to state how extended to see improvement but I would state if soon after two.five days and you do not see any improvement, it is not functioning. See a physician. Great luck.
